1. CompactLaw.co.uk
1.1 These Terms & Conditions govern your use of compactlaw.co.uk and all content, information or guides located on this website and any other website operated by us and all versions that appear on third party sites that have been expressly licensed by CompactLaw Limited, ("CompactLaw"). Your use of compactlaw.co.uk and any other website operated by us is subject to these terms and conditions. By using compactlaw.co.uk and any other website operated by us, you agree to this.
1.2 COMPACTLAW, the sunflower logo or device and LAWRIGHTS are the registered trademarks of CompactLaw and must not be used in any form without the express prior written approval of CompactLaw.
2. Introduction
The CompactLaw Document Centre is an online service for purchasing individual legal documents and document Packs. The CompactLaw Employers Pack is a software product for generating employment, health & safety and human resources documents for use by employers.
3. Customer Information
Customers should always check that the contact information they provide is correct before proceeding to payment.
4. Electronic Products & Refunds
4.1 No right of refund exists for individual documents or document Packs; these products are intended for business use only - not for consumer use. No right of cancellation or refund exists under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (or any other consumer Act or Regulation that may replace these pieces of legislation) once a document or Pack has been purchased.
4.2 Any documents or products intended by CompactLaw solely for consumer use are fully refundable where the document or product has not been downloaded by the customer. Currently, only CompactLaw Will documents are intended solely for consumer use.
4.3 CompactLaw will issue a full refund within 5 working days for any consumer documents or products not downloaded by the customer.
5. Customer Complaints
CompactLaw endeavours to respond to complaints within 5 working days.
6. Copyright & Licence
6.1 The purchase of a product(s) from the Document Centre gives the Customer a licence to use the documents and legal information contained therein for the period of the licence, subject to limitations described in these terms and conditions.
6.2 All the forms and resulting documents are and remain the copyright of CompactLaw. Furthermore, the copyright notice and document reference details at the end of each document shall not be removed or altered in any way by the Customer.
6.3 Customers may not re-sell, re-publish, copy or distribute any CompactLaw document or any part thereof for use by any third party, including another organisation within a group.
6.4 Customers may not share their unique username or password used to access their Account page.
6.5 Customers must notify CompactLaw of any changes to their contact details, including their email address.
6.6 Customers must not use the email address supplied at the time of purchase to forward service announcements or notice of updates sent by CompactLaw regarding the products and services to another email address, whether it is their email address or that of a third party.
6.7 CompactLaw reserves the right to withdraw (without refund) access to any product where it is believed (solely by CompactLaw) that usernames & passwords have been disclosed to a third party or documents have been shared.
6.8 If you suspect that your username & password are being used by a third party you should contact us immediately via our Contact page.
6.9 CompactLaw will not issue any refunds either in full or in part where access to any product is withdrawn due to a breach or suspected breach of these Terms & Conditions by the Customer.
7. Liability
7.1 CompactLaw tries to ensure that all documents and information contained within the Document Centre, the Packs or any other part of compactlaw.co.uk or any other website operated by us are accurate and reflect the law at the time of use.
7.2 However, neither CompactLaw, its directors or officers, partners of CompactLaw, or third party sales agents shall be liable for any losses that arise from relying upon the documents or information within either the Document Centre, the Packs or any other part of www.compactlaw.co.uk or any other website operated by us. Or where the Customer decides to act or not to act based upon the information contained within the Document Centre, Packs or any other part of the website.
7.3 Neither the contents of the Document Centre, Packs or any other part of compactlaw.co.uk or any other website operated by us constitute individual legal advice. All of our services should be used in conjunction with proper legal advice where required.
7.4 Where CompactLaw refers a client to or recommends an individual lawyer, law firm or barristers' chambers the client's contractual relationship is strictly with the individual lawyer, law firm or barristers' chambers - not CompactLaw. Where a client is unhappy with any service provided by an individual lawyer, law firm or barristers' chambers the client should contact the individual lawyer, law firm or barristers' chambers to seek a resolution to the dispute and should follow the dispute resolution service provided by the individual lawyer, law firm or barristers' chambers.
8. Access to compactlaw.co.uk
8.1 CompactLaw takes all reasonable steps to ensure that both compactlaw.co.uk and any other website operated by us are available and functioning fully at all times. However, CompactLaw does not accept any responsibility for "downtime" or poor performance of CompactLaw fileservers or where any CompactLaw service is unavailable for any other reason, whether within or outside the direct control of CompactLaw.
8.2 Furthermore CompactLaw reserves the right to bar users or customers from access to either compactlaw.co.uk or any other website operated by us and any services contained within where a user or customer commits or seeks to commit fraud, attempts to disrupt in any way the services offered by us.
9. Alteration of Terms & Conditions
CompactLaw is free to alter or revise compactlaw.co.uk and any other website operated by us at any time and without the requirement to notify users.
10. Acceptance
Your use of this website and any other operated by us and any service contained within constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
11. Entire Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions set out the entire agreement and understanding between you and CompactLaw.
12. Severability
The paragraphs, sub-paragraphs and clauses of these Terms & Conditions shall be read and construed independently of each other. Should any part of this agreement or its paragraphs, sub-paragraphs or clauses be found invalid it shall not affect the remaining paragraphs, sub-paragraphs and clauses.
13. Waiver by CompactLaw
Failure by CompactLaw to enforce any accrued rights under these Terms & Conditions is not to be taken as or deemed to be a waiver of those rights unless CompactLaw acknowledges the waiver in writing.
14. Jurisdiction
14.1 This website and any others operated by us are intended for the jurisdiction of England & Wales and as such should not be specifically used or relied upon for any other jurisdiction. CompactLaw does not accept responsibility for any such use.
14.2 These Terms & Conditions shall be interpreted, construed and enforced in accordance with English law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
