What is a Staff Handbook?
A Staff Handbook is the generic term for a collection of employment policies and procedures used by an employer to manage their staff. It may be a generic term, but the documents and policies are essential for all employers, regardless of size.
Employers can either print out the documents they need from the Employers Pack and put them in a binder, or the entire Pack can be kept on a server for staff to access. Whichever method is used you should make all staff aware of the contents of your staff handbook. That is why we include a staff handbook sign-off form with the Pack, for each employee to sign, acknowledging they have read the staff handbook and agree to be bound by it. What should be included in a staff handbook?
Why have a Staff Handbook?
A staff handbook is a cost-effective way to manage all employees; with all the policies an employer must have in one fixed-price product.
Our staff handbooks provide an up-to-date source of employment contracts, employment policies, human resources and health & safety forms. The Employers Pack also includes our full range of business documents as a free extra.
Employment law is constantly changing - the Pack includes 12-months of free upgrades included in the price.
Our customers range from 2-3 person businesses right through to large overseas companies who require employment documents and policies for their UK staff.
We also have a large number of law firms and HR professionals as subscribers - which we see as a good sign.
The costs of not having a Handbook
The costs of not having a proper staff handbook can be considerable. By not having the correct procedures in place an employer is exposed to any number of possible claims - unfair dismissal, age, race, sex discrimination and more.
Download or CD
Both contain the same content, the CD also includes the Download version in the price.
