Anti-Bribery Policy, this policy is to comply with the Bribery Act 2010. The Bribery Act 2010 covers two main areas of bribery, active bribery and passive bribery. This policy should be used if as an organisation there is a perceived or actual increased risk of corruption.

The increased risk of bribery depends on many factors, such as the area of industry and the geographical area of operation. Also, where an organisation moves into a new product area or territory, there can be increased risks of bribery occurring.

Furthermore having a clear policy in place communicates to employees, partners and customers that bribery will not be accepted. Also, now that it has become law many public bodies require organisations bidding for public contracts to show that they have an anti-bribery policy in place as part of any tendering process.

The clauses in this policy include:

  • Policy Statement
  • Bribing a Person
  • Accepting a Bribe
  • Bribing a Foreign Public Official
  • Failure to Prevent Bribery
  • Reporting
  • Duty to Act
  • Senior Management and Organisation Liability
  • Clear Communication
  • Date of implementation
  • Questions
  • Alterations
